We don’t believe we have stumbled upon each other by chance. We believe God has ordained that we meet and work closely together for Kingdom purposes, His purposes.
We believe that God has called each of us to utilize our time and talents through the Center for Mission Effectiveness to help assure optimal effectiveness and impact. This mindset is built on the embraced understanding that our work is first and foremost God’s work.

In further describing the capacities that we believe are critical to achieving God-sized visions in partnership with clients, we leverage the concept of COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE...
Author Becky Malby created a guide entitled Facilitating Communities of Practice. In it, she describes three distinguishing characteristics of a community of practice supported by several guiding principles. We have added to her thoughts below to ensure that we incorporate a Godly perspective.
“Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.”
We refer to ourselves as a community called by God to share our God-given talents and expertise with each other and with our clients. Each associate demonstrates a life of prayer, learning and Christian service, all part of giving our “Utmost for His Highest” (Oswald Chambers).
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE 3 CHARACTERISTICS OF A PRACTICE COMMUNITY

1. The Domain of InterestShared competence between peers, in relation to a specific practice.Members are passionate about the issue, they come together because they care about it. In our specific case, we believe that God has called each of our practice associates specifically to be coaches, mentors and guides to our clients in helping them realize God’s call on them to fund and / or provide needed services and support that include an invitation to the Gospel.

2. The CommunityMembers help each other in serving, through sharing knowledge and experience.The key here is repeated interaction and supportive learning relationships. There is depth to these interactions that includes reflective skills. In addition to our secular knowledge and experience we are able to meld those valuable capacities with God’s Holy Spirit working in and through us to accomplish His objective in meeting the needs of His people and calling them to a saving knowledge of Christ.

3. The PracticeTo create meaning, coherence, and to learn what works, why and how to pass it onPractice is the application of knowledge, and in this process this practice is shared, i.e. all members are developing their shared approach.
Why do we do this work together? How do we do our work together? What's working, what's not, and how do new associates learn about our work?
God has gifted each of our practice associates in unique and powerful ways that when offered collaboratively accomplishes God’s objectives in amazing ways.
To sum it up, communities of practice are networks of leaders committed to learning how to do the best they can in their domain of interest, to create relationships for learning and development.
They clarify what information needs to be generated and shared across the community and with those they serve.
